Weekend Roundup {February 21st- 23rd 2014}

Hello lovelies!
How was your weekend?
Mine was eventful. Yesterday my honey and I had breakfast at a local diner in a little town outside of Spokane a little ways called Couer D’Alene. The diner was an old school 1950ish style, with AMAZING food. If you live in the area try Jimmy’s down the street in CDa. Its kind of become a tradition in the weekends for my honey and I to meet up and get some food together and then grab coffee and spend the day together hanging out. After driving around CDa for a bit we stocked up on food for dinner and headed home to whip up Mountain Meatballs for dinner and catch up House of Cards. Have you watched that show? We are kind of addicted to it. If you like politics, then definitely check it out

This morning I woke up to snow, blech, so I donned my boots and a sweater. Meet up with my honey and we got coffee at a local shop, Wakeup Call then headed to the SkyWay Cafe over by Felts Field airport. I quite enjoy spending time with my honey one on one talking about life and getting to know each other a little better. After breakfast, we split ways and I did some window shopping, and went browsing through Barnes and Noble and then went to get my nails done up.

The rest of my day shall be spent curled up on the couch with the puppies I’m watching and watching Mr Selfridge(another great tv show!)

Enjoy your weekend!

Hello My Lovelies!!
Are you all enjoying your Friday afternoon?

Im so happy its Friday, its been a long long week, and I’m ready for the weekend to start!

This outfit was inspired by Pinterest(of course) and the Lovely Merrick of Merricks Art.

I saw her cute outfit and knew I had to recreate it with my great tunic dress my sister in law got me on her Mexican Cruise.

Here is the original outfit.

And my take on it.

||Tip Tuesday::Print Mixing||

Hello Lovelies!!!
I’ve decided to come up with a new thing for Tuesdays, Tip Tuesday!
I’ll give a little fashion advice, or makeup/hair advice every Tuesday and show you a don’t and a do, just remember that just because I feel like it shouldn’t be done a certain way, doesn’t mean that its bad, its just my honest opinion!

So today we are going to talk about mixing prints. A lot of you are probably thinking, this chick is odd, she mixes prints, but you can! The key when mixing, is make sure that one print is big and the other is smaller and more understated. A lot of times I will wear polka dots and leopard together and it works just fine. You might feel a tad bit weird mixing a print, but as long as its done right, you can rock it! Its a great way to express yourself and be unique.

First picture featured below is a big fat DONT!

This just doesnt work, too much going on. The flowers are big and bright, and the stripes are big and bold. A simple solution to this problem would be, a shirt with a smaller floral print, or a skirt with a smaller stripe.

Seeing as I have neither in my closet, I opted to go with a cute small polka dot skirt instead, and I LOVE it!

It’s a quirky combo, but a great one. You can mix the same prints together as well, like big polka dots and small polka dots, or large bold stripes with thin pencil stripes. As long as one pattern is significantly smaller then the other, have fun mixing!

Weekend roundup {February 14th-16th 2014}

Hello my lovelies!!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend, and if you are so lucky as to have today off, I hope you are thoroughly enjoying it!

My valentines day was great! My “Valenbabe” took me wine tasting, then we headed back to his house where he had a dozen mixed bunch of roses, a card with the sweetest, quirkiest poem, strawberries and a special cake.

We made salmon, and rice with a caesar salad for dinner, with a glass of wine from the winery we went to and then enjoyed a quiet night in watching comedy and movies.

The next day, he picked me up and we went to breakfast at a local diner, and then he played geek for the afternoon building a computer and I lazed around watching movies, made homemade tomato basil soup(still trying to get that recipe just right) and watched our favorite tv show and just spent quality time together.  We finished out our great weekend together by having lunch with my family at Tomato Street and then grabbed a coffee and went for a sunny afternoon drive. I took him by my old house growing up and he showed me his grandparents old farm land out in Otis Orchards. Over all, a wonderful weekend! I forgot to share a picture of my outfit yesterday, but no fear, it shall appear again very soon! Here’s a few pics from my Valentine’s weekend and my outfit today!

Happy Valentines day my loves!!
Here’s a fun little outfit for today. I kept my makeup very natural and light, not want to cake it on and just put a lipgloss on for color rather than lipstick so it doesn’t smudge on my honeys lips! 😉

Have a wonderful day!

Grey pants: H&M
Black and pink tank tops: Buckle
Kimono: Forever 21(this season)
