I got so excited to find this Gorg polka dot dress from dress barn at a thrift store for under $10. Of course when I wear polka dots I immediately revert to vintage style, although this dress really screams Pretty Woman to me, maybe next time I’ll style my hair in glorious 90’s style! Speaking of hair, I chopped a good chunk off. Perfect for summer time shenanigans!
Enough rambling! Here’s the pics.
I’ve been MIA for a while, its hard for me to keep up on the regular with this blog, so don’t expect a massive amounts of posts all of a sudden!😉
I woke up this morning to a lovely rain shower. I sleep with my window open and to hear the rain on the tin roof is quite possibly my favorite sound in the world. It makes me want to curl up in bed all day and read Jane Austen, with old french music playing in the background and a cup of tea……
Wait, where was I, oh ya back to reality, work.
I was excited because I get to bring out the rain boots one more time before summertime sets in and they have to be put away for the season.
Speaking of hair I’ve been on a crazy braid kick, thanks to Missysue.com
She did 20 braid for the month of April and I tried my had at a few of them.
Braids are a great way for me to keep my hair off my face and neck during the summertime. I love a good crown braid!
Here’s some that I tried
This one is called the triple french braid double waterfall braid
This one is from a different gal and its called the loose side french braid
Side-swept waterfall braid(still mastering the art of the waterfall braid)
And last we have the double dutch braid bun!
And last but not least, I just hit the 150 days of happiness with this handsome fella right here!
Have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget to remember your mothers on Sunday!
Lately I have become obsessed with wearing booties, or short boots with my outfits.
Now most of the time I wear them with a skirt or dress so figuring out how to cuff things is…well. pointless. But I’ve been trying to figure out how to pair them with pants. I have a few styles of booties, the brown with the dip in front, the short black ankle boots, and my fabulous grey wedge booties. Trying to figure out how to wear them with pants has been interesting. So one day I was browsing on Pinterest and found a helpful little article from Merrick over at Merrick’s Art and thought I would share part one with you all!
take a peek at her article and then continue on to read the other parts on what styles of boots and the proper cuffing for them!
Two outfit posts in one day! Lucky you!
Haha, Monday is always a drag so I kind of threw on a random outfit, not too bad, but I’m excited its nice outside now.

Sorry I’ve been MIA, I still have been taking pictures just haven’t had time to post them up.
Here’s a quick run down of what I wore last week.
I just love this sapphire blue sweater I got on clearnace at Target recently. It really is a good color for me. I tend to stay away from blues if they have a navy tone, because I used to work in a job that required me to wear navy blue everyday. I now hate it.
I wore this out to dinner with my best friend at Buffalo Wild wings. Hats are my saving grace if my hair is on its last days before a wash. I hated the trim that was originally on it, so i removed it and put this cute stretchy lace headband on instead. Perfect spring time combo
This is an old favorite of mine, I got this dress on clearance last year at Target, another favorite color or mine.
This was lazy day, and honestly wasn’t my favorite outfit, oh well.
This is a glimpse of my Friday night outfit. I helped celebrate my friends 30th birthday. I got this 3/4 length lace black mini dress at H&M. and I love it!
Have a fabulous Monday!
Last night I did a little diy on a bland boring t shirt.
I cut the back of the shirt up at the side seams and across at the bottom of the arm pit.
I then took this fabulous leopard print material and cut a rectangle that was a little longer than the front.
Pinned it and sewed it across the upper back from arm pit to arm pit.
Then down on both side seams.
I removed the front pocket and cut out a new one out of the leopard print and resewed that in the same place that old one was.
I then cut the new leopard back into a round hem and sewed a small hem.
After trying the shirt on I decided that I needed to redo the sleeves. So I sewed a larger stitch down the sleeves from the shoulder seam and Ruched it up and then stitched it down with a regular stitch.
Can’t wait to wear it tonight at comedy!
Its a total repeat outfit, but its been a long week and I was exhausted. I was even in bed before 10 pm last night!
My hair is froofy due to the weather and just didn’t want to think about what to wear so I threw this together. I’m just happy its Friday, because tonight its DIY night at my house with my good friend! I have a sewing project I’m working on right now.
TGIF!! Have a lovely day!

Yesterdays outfit was inspired by my little sister and a bit of Brigitte Bardot. I love a good 60’s Mad men style outfit on occasion. Its a little more office friendly than 40’a or 50’s style in my opinion.
